Privacy Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
Vegan Cookie Lab (“we”, “us”) publishes vegan cookie recipes at vegancookielab.com. We collect as little as possible. This policy explains what that is and what we do with it.
The short version
- There are no accounts, newsletters, ads or third-party analytics on this site.
- We don’t sell or rent information about you, and we don’t use tracking cookies.
- If you use The Lab, the ingredients you enter are sent to an AI provider to write your recipe.
Information we collect
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our servers automatically record basic request details: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the time. We use these logs to keep the site running, fix problems and protect it from abuse. They are kept for a limited time and are not used to build profiles of visitors.
The Lab. When you ask The Lab for a recipe, we receive the ingredients you chose. We send them to a third-party AI service (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) to write the recipe and, sometimes, a photo. The generated recipe is saved so the same ingredients return the same recipe later, but it isn’t linked to you. To prevent abuse, we briefly count requests per IP address; that count is held in memory and isn’t stored. Please don’t type personal information into The Lab.
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to reply.
Cookies and local storage
We don’t set advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser stores two preferences on your own device: light or dark mode, and US or metric measurements. They never leave your browser, and clearing your site data removes them.
Services we rely on
The site is hosted on servers we rent from DigitalOcean. The Lab uses third-party AI providers as described above. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies. Fonts and images are served from our own servers.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers above, when the law requires it, or to protect the site and its visitors from fraud or abuse.
Children
The site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. Because we don’t keep accounts, there is usually very little we can tie to you. Email us and we’ll help where we can.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
